2016 should be, and hopefully will be the year that Roon gains some real traction. RAAT & RoonBridge are going to make it relatively very easy to get Roon on a lot of setups. Manufacturers such as Devialet, Melco, Aurender and even Naim, will not be able to ignore it forever. There will also be an increase in the number of Roon Ready appliances ranging from minute endpoints (eg. Raspberry Pi) and purpose built interfaces (Sonore) to full blown server appliances.
With a vested interest in Roon as a lifer, I hope they really achieve their aim as becoming the go-to music management de-facto standard. I reckon they stand a very good chance, people just need to see past the apparent high subscription, which in the context of overall spend on one's system is actually pretty small. But well worth it for the increased enjoyment of music.
