I think 8x11cm is pretty generous these days thinking about it.
Not comparing like for like I know, but ChromecastAudio, Raspberry Pi, Cubox, audioquest dragonfly, iPhone, just some examples of what can be packed into tiny footprints these days. And these things invariably include batteries, cases, connector sockets, screens, etc. Fitting a decent new streamer board that can run Linux or whatever into L'Experts should be a cinch for a company that allegedly shrunk their 'magic wire' circuits down to a 1cm chip.
