Yesterday I thought I was done with 9 and would revert to my trusty 7.1.1.
But I thought I'd give it an extended tryout as it sounds quite different so might take some more getting used to.
Tonight I'm thinking I might keep it a bit longer. Whether or not that means I like it or I'm just bored worrying/obsessing about it, I'm not sure.
For what it's worth I perceive it to be louder than 7.1.1 by 4-5db on the dial. MUCH Deeper bass and more of it in the depths, yet thinner in terms of the 'thump' (I'm guessing less bass in the 100hz area), and a treble that is somehow more exciting and in your face but at the same time smoother if that makes any sense at all.
Hopefully when I set Dirac back up it kind of won't really matter.
