Roon connects directly to the Picoreplayer using Squeezebox mode. Upto 192/24 (which is the max the Hifiberry board and Dialog can do anyway)

It will act as a Roon server similar to Aries using optical out to Dialog. Roon will see it and you will be able to stream using roon. Its probably the cheapest way to do it.
The RPi2/Digi+ combon is US$70 (about £50 if bought in the EU) vs. US$300 for the sonic orbiter (+ for the EU shipping from the US + duty/VAT)
