Micromega M.One - another potential Devialet's competitor?
#1
Just saw an ad on Stereophile (Mar 2016) stating M.One being another all-in-one aluminium block of "pizza-box" design which is a Class A/B amp, 24/768 PCM & DSD, Ethernet, Wifi, USB, AES3, Coax, Optical, MM/MC Phonostage, Airplay, Bluetooth SPTX and built-in advanced room analysis and correction.

Another knows more about this brand and model?

This was spotted a while back....

It certainly interesting, if only for its overly obvious Devialet wannabe styling. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery? I'm not sure if the Devialet executives would see it like that though?

Yeah, Micromega offering custom-built color and room correction DSP is a nice touch. But, nobody knows the sound quality yet. Pricing is lower than Devialet, too.

One can only hope that this might spur Devialet on to add room correction, otherwise they have been under cut on price and out-specified, at least as for a RC is concerned.

I wonder. It was introduced a year ago but won't hit the market until the 2nd quarter of 2016. Obviously they wanted to get the word out ASAP but hadn't actually built one. So it's a wannabe for sure.

No reviews yet but I'm sure the first review to come out will compare it to Devialet. Time will tell if it's any good. Just having a long(er) list of capabilities doesn't sell it to those who care about SQ. It might though, steal some sales from Devialet because some people just want a nice looking one box solution. And a nice looking box it is. I'll have a red one. They sound faster!
