I'm deeply familiar with network technology. There is absolutely no reason that given the relatively low bandwidth that even the highest quality audio stream consumes, that they can't build redundancy into the system. 

All they need to do is create a mesh network. They don't even need an efficient one.

My wireless cuts out regularly and I have three Airport Extreme's that are all hard-wired to a 500MB/sec fiber connection. It should be bulletproof, and it's not even close.

Completely agree there. You only have to look at Sonos to see how well it can be implemented. I have had sonos since 2007 and wireless dropouts were never a thing I worried about (but quality of speakers is). It's running side by side with devialet and it just works. In fact I am using a sonos connect as a bridge to sonos mesh network to avoid wiring the dialog. There should be no reason why devialet couldn't do the same.
