A new streamer board wasn't required to decode DSD it certainly shouldn't be required to decode MQA.  But Devialet might sell it as such.


If you have a MQA capable dac and tell the Tidal App to pass through the MQA unmolested to said DAC, it's possible that said DAC would light up 176.4, 192 or more.  I've seen reports of such.

The differences between hardware and software decoding is a big mystery right now.

I see that companys like MSB have a new USB module to get MQA support so something in the hardware has to be different to the existing USB module hence my thoughts about new streamerboard from Devialet giving us MQA.
