Many of these companies are hardware oriented and apps seem to be low priority items. If the companies become successful the demand for product may exceed their capacity to satisfy the market and apps become even lower on the priority list. Even larger companies such as Linn take a long time to produce a good app.
Surprisingly, Auralic, Lumin and Aurender have produced satisfactory apps. All three of these have steadily improved the product (A major app update for Aurender is rumored for February) and kept the hardware line fresh.
The gorilla in the room may be Roon. The upcoming Elac streamer is supposed to have Roon embedded. I think that Melco should do the same.
