Something I saw in the manual for the Anti-Mode 8033 intrigued me: it suggests that with active correction (i.e. their box) the best place for a sub-woofer is actually in a corner, which is normally considered a bad place. That would definitely win brownie points from a practical/domestic point of view. It is all very tempting to experiment with, I must say.
