I've tried connecting Apple TV to Phantoms through the new Airplay feature. The sound drops in 10-20 seconds after it starts on Apple TV. Can anyone confirm that behavior?

Did you directly airplay to Phantoms or through Dialog?  I airplay to my Dialog without any sound drops but my speakers are Silver not Gold

Well, I've connected Phantoms to another Apple TV and now it works fine.
