AXD
#1
I´ve read that you need to contact Devialet to get the values for your specific speakers to use AXD; is this correct? Considering their unwillingness to respond to my questions, I don´t carry much hope, ergo I turn to you:

Can I use this "feature" with my 440s and Wilson Sabrinas?

I don't know if my understanding is correct, from what I heard from the dealers, Devialet needs to set up the specific Devialet amps for the specific frequencies. Your speakers of course also has to be modified to connect direct, bypassing the internal crossovers.

I believe you can only do that on a new purchase, and I don't know whether you can un-do those Devialet settings specific for the crossover of your speakers. I personally wouldn't even think of trying, as once you change speakers all the setup has to be changed, too much trouble..... unless you are so certain your use the same speakers for life and that speakers will not break down.

Thanks, if this is correct I won´t bother with it, but I read somewhere about someone who had received values from Devialet for this (but I might have misinterpreted the post)? Not much to be found about AXD....

Thanks, I´ve read this. It doesn´t really say how they do it though, but "... just a set of dedicated configuration files and the connection of Expert Pro to the speakers. In several minutes you can enjoy the original sound from the speaker designer."
Wiresandmore (https://devialetchat.com/User-wiresandmore) wrote " Yes, but you can get the configs from the speaker manufacturers which support the AXD config."

It looks like one will need a lot of amps (supposedly they´ve developed this feature to sell more of them...), but Pisabell (https://devialetchat.com/User-pisabell)
wrote about using "...a pair of D200's driving a pair of Naim SL2 speakers, one amp for each speaker. In this two-way case, the config can be done by the user using the low-pass and high-pass filters available in the online configurator. However, setting the right cut-off point for each filter is critical. Mathieu calculated the values for me, based on the specs available for the Naim active crossover product (SNAXO 242)" ?

This doesn´t make sense if the drivers are powered separately?
