Best CD Player for using D200 DAC?
#1
Hi guys,

I was wondering which CD Player would be best to use with with the D200 DAC?

I currently have a cheap Denon CD Player DCD510AE, which I would like to upgrade. When I look for good CD players they come with integrated DACs driving the price up significantly. CD Players with intgrated DACs are useless for me given that the D200 DAC does suffice for me.

Ideally, there is a good cd player with AES output.

any advice?

I was thinking about buying an Oppo but given the rise of 4k, I do not want to buy one today.

If I were in the market for a pure CD transport Metronome would be my first port of call:

Not cheap but you asked for the best...

(Actually, quite a lot cheaper than a Metronome)

Mission and Musical Fidelity make some good CD transports. Krell also if you have the money. :-)

I used to use the Musical Fidelity M1CD transport and it worked well with the Devialet. I got rid of it as it wasn't as good as AIR sound quality in my opinion. Can't remember if it had AES/EBU

Moon 260CD transport. (+ AES/EBU)
Love it, and not an acceptional high pricetag.

That Pro-ject looks like a great deal for the price -- like their turntables.
