Better placement?
#1
Hello I have been wondering why my devialet's bass sounds a lot better while sitting on sofa compared to sitting near the right table. I'm attaching screenshot.
Bass is more precise and deeper while sitting on sofa. Is it because of the placement? Or Distance?

It Probably room modes  where bass bounces around and causes peaks and nulls at certain bass frequencies in different parts of the room

Not sure if minor placement tweaks will make much difference - other than the usual trying to keep away from rear and side walls if poss.

Generally room modes will occur due the basic geometry of the room - and can only really be treated with room correction or treatment

I use a Dspeaker antimode with mine as I get bass boom in my seating position - due a to a big peak at about 70hz and 90hz - which get flattened out with room correction / EQ

Or you could just sit where it sounds best Smile
