Then I wanted to listen to phono, only to discover that it had disappeared from the settings. How do I get the phono set up with the 7.1.3 card I have (downloaded from Chat some while ago)? I've forgotten how to do all this!

Why move to 7.1.3? I read from here some guys say that previous version sound better, with my system I tried all firmware but I still stick to the latest 10.1.0 for my Devialet 400, I don't find the previous firmwares sounding better.

As this thread is about tone controls and not firmware, I would politely suggest not to answer off topic questions to keep the thread on topic. Angel

Let me precise my first question:

Did you notice any change in sound quality (SQ) when changing settings of Treble/Bass frequencies from factory settings (T=2kHz / B=200Hz)?
Especially, I mean maximum setting for Treble (T=20kHz) and significantly lower for Bass (B=80Hz or lower). The vertical (gain) values of Treble/Bass I use are always +/-0dB - fully flat frequency characteristics. SQ here I mean - original tonal balance, natural sound colour, high dynamics, bass control, deep and precise scene together with amount of detail in recording.

I think the best way to achieve this is to disable "Balance" and "Tone" in the speaker configuration section.

How do you disable "Balance" and "Tone" in the speaker configuration section? I have in the "Speaker configuration: master" page section "Preout: ON" and neither "Balance applies to this output" nor "Tone applies to this output" ticked on. So, they should be disabled?

With the above mentioned setting still change in "General settings" --> "Balance and Tone Control" of Treble from 20 000 Hz to 15 000 Hz leads to change in SQ of treble.

Thank you Daniel to let us know that both "Balance" and "Tone" can be disabled. I just checked the configurator and even "Mute" can be disabled.
