Hey, Ada, I'm absolutely not taking things against me. I'm a grown up guy enjoying healthy debates, just like you.
On the cables, I couldn't resist mentioning them as I went to enough recording studios to know what they're using!
On the science side, I'm also an engineer who spent enough time on signal processing to understand correction solutions have their limits, just like SAM or Dirac. However, digital RC for me is the worst thing: playing with bits with terrible side effects (the limit of the possible listening positions for example). It reminds me the subwoofer+2 satellites architecture: you can never achieve the right balance.
My disagreement is on your perception of marketing promises and the actual value Devialet delivered. I'm thankful for the fact that such a high-fidelity amplifier is still working today in a world of programmed obsolescence, having the luxury to have SW updates to address critical issues and bringing new features like ICM, and the great services of having three SAM profiles made for me, two of them at home.
I'm eager to know more about the new system (assuming it's a new integrated amplifier), and the possibility to upgrade ours.
