Devialet as a renderer, or all in one

MHi guys, i just got my new expert pro with CI. I was hoping that it could be all in one solution for streaming. Now it seems i still need my lumin as a renderer, as devialet does not do it. Does any of you know if devialet will be able to render/play the files? Or i always will neet a renderer like lumin?

Hi Alve, Devialet is not an all in one solution for streaming. You still need a hard device - Lumin, Aurender - or you can put Roon on a PC/MAC on your network, then you won’t need the hardware streamer. Devialet has no streaming software of its own though.

It does now run UPNP software if you use the latest beta software. It will act as a renderer in that mode, you need a UPNP server somewhere to store the files and a control point to select and control the music.

If you use a QNAP NAS to store your music files, as I do, you can use one of their apps called QMusic to play the files directly into the Devialet via UPnP. It’s not as functional as something like Roon, but works very well.
