Devialet with Sonos

I have personally tried and experienced quite a few of streaming devices and software namely Sonos, Bluesound, Roon Lifetime with Tidal, Aurdivarna+, JRiver MC19/20/21, Foobar2000, Emperor Bughead, and more. If you asked me to choose for daily playback, I will pick Sonos streaming via coax to my Le200. The main reason being that Sonos has the most diverse music sources and lately I'm fixated on iHeartRadio on iHeart80s which brings me back to the 80s and although it may not be CD-quality but Le200 is upsampling the stream to a level which is very listenable. And, most importantly Sonos is very convenient and easy to use, turn it on and it just works, no stuttering, static noises, whatever, except pure music.

I love my Sonos and Devialet combination more and more each day.

Unfortunately, no one can do modification here in China, I was thinking of adding W4S Remedy but thinking the cost of it at US$399, it just doesn't make sense.

I was actually doing much listening this weekend with my W4S Remedy Reclocker.  This was with music related DVD's (not DVD-A's), played on a not particularly expensive Blu-ray player + the W4S.  I was actually quite amazed by how good the sound quality was.  I'm sure the W4S would work well with a Sonos Connect, although I do get your point about the price, as the W4S actually costs more than a Sonos!  (maybe I should try Sonos Connect + W4S vs AIR?)

Yes but the combined price still makes it a lot cheaper than "audiophile" alternatives, certainly worth a try!

I still enjoy radio but my area has crappy FM reception therefore, I use my Sonos to stream my local FM stations via Internet.

It's proven to be extremely reliable, their app is very robust and I've never had any issues after any Sonos software updates!

We have several Sonos units around the house and as a multi room system it's really excellent. I have a Connect wired via coax to the D200 and find the sq very acceptable. There is integration with Qubuz, Tidal etc and you can stream from a NAS drive. My wife loves the Sonos 1 in the living room, particularly because you can hardly see it!

They have just launched "Trueplay" which looks like it could be a room correction system for the stand alone units - Sonos 1,3 and 5. I have not tried it yet so cannot really comment on whether it works.

There have been issues with BBC radio in recent months which I believe was more to do with TuneIn accomodating BBC changes than a problem with Sonos. However this seems to be resolved now.

The Connect is very inexpensive when compared to Auralic, Aurender and other high end streamers although probably not in the same league sq wise. Maybe I will go with one of these eventually but the Sonos is pretty good so I'm not in a great rush!

Just to tie up a loose end...I posted a short note about my experience with Trueplay on the room correction thread earlier today.  In summary: I found it works very well on my Play:1.

I have tuned my Play:1 and Play:3 in my house with TruePlay and I do hear some improvements in SQ. Sonos will keep improving its TruePlay offerings to its range of products including Connect:Amp. I hope they will offer it to Connect, too.
