Does the amp and Dac in the Phantom equal that 120?

I wondering if the amp and dac are reworked versions of an existing product.  Thanks guys!

I can give you the technical details that I've seen, but don't know what question that will answer.

I think the DAC in the Phantom is the TI PCM1798 (123dB SNR, 123dB dynamic range, 0.001 THD+N) while the Experts use the TI PCM1792 (127dB SNR, 132dB dynamic range, 0.0005 THD+N), but both chips are outdated in comparison to the ESS Sabre ES9018 (130dB SNR, 135dB dynamic range, -120dB THD). That said it isn't the chips but the engineering of the whole system that matters.

Devialet modified the amps they made for the Experts when they built the Phantom. You can find on the Devialet website whitepapers on their amplification technology and the integration for the Phantom.

I hope that helps you.

My understanding is that Phantom amps are actually substantially better rated than than the 120. More like the 200/400.
