Expert 250 Pro and 1000 Pro

I recently integrated an Eversolo T8 to my system and as well couldn’t be happier! Using Qobus for streaming I’m loving the simplicity of enjoying & finding new music and the aesthetics of my system, a little bit of eye candy but no blim/blam to distract ️

I'm now leaning towards getting a D250 together with a NAGRA Streamer. That way I'm not as dependent on the software compatability of the older D250 and can maximize the use of TIDAL and (soon available) Spotify lossless Connect. My only hesitation is regarding having to use a digital coax cable instead of the AES or Ethernet to connect to the Devialet.

The more thought I have given to this combination the more sense it seems to make. An older but still very capable and in many ways unique amplifier with a high end streamer... should be hard to go wrong.

Hi. Let me ask why you think you need an extra streamer, the Nagra. The D250 imho includes everything you need for streaming/DAC/Pre/Power Amp. I have been living with the 1000 expert for 15 years, driving it by Roon from three generations of MacMinis conneceted either by TOSLINK optical or Ethernet. I am as happy as on my first day with the sound on my Ayon Goshawks.

Technically there is no immediate need, but musically it makes a very big difference having a high quality streamer such as the NAGRA paired up with a Devialet. I have tried many different streamers (ROON Nucleus, serveral Lumin and Innuos models) and NAGRA is superior when it comes to ease of use and sound quality.

Another reason for me to chose NAGRA was that I wanted a reliable product from a reliable producer that probably will support the product with software updates for a foreseable future. This way I can use the Devialet exclusively as an amplifier and not risking a lack in compatibilty when using variuos streaming services. Just take a look at what happened to Auralic.
