Expert Pro - no power after power outage/restore
#1
I've had a new issue with my Expert Pro 440 that I've not seen before.    There's been a few nasty storms recently that have caused the power to go out.    Twice now, when the power is restored, both of my Expert Pros do not power up.   Neither the remotes nor the front button will power them on.   However, if I remove the power cord and re-insert it, they power on just fine.

Anyone else see this?   Given that it's happening to both Expert Pros, I have to think it's by design - perhaps some protection circuit within  - but I've had these for years now and have not seen this before.   It's happened twice within days.   The only thing I'm doing a bit different over the last few months is that I'm now using a trigger cable between them.

Any insight?

I've seen similar behaviour (just once) and concluded it must due to a protection circuit: https://devialetchat.com/Thread-Brown-out-protection. Incidentally, I don't use a trigger cable.

Hi, could be a protection that the repeated start-up is prevented in the event of several power failures! It makes sense to stop commuting! Only when the power supply is completely disconnected does a complete reset occur when starting up again (usual for production machines etc.)!

Thanks for the reference... must have missed those posts.

Yep, sounds exactly like what happened to me.   In both cases, this occurred in the middle of the night so I suspect it was a result of power flickered off and on serveral times such that my Expert Pros didn't have sufficient time to reboot before power was cut again.   Nice feature!    Surprised I haven't seen this before now.
