Frequency response: what's normal for an untreated room?
#1
I found this video today by Jesco Lohan of Acoustics Insider which is quite relevant to the recent flurry of posts about using REW to build filters for Sweet Room: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b88F0oYWH9I.

Although a lot of it might not be new or surprising, but I found it very clear and there were some useful rules of thumb to bear in mind.  There's plenty more where that came from on the Acoustics Insider channel, mainly focused on studio rather than home audio, though.

Enjoy!

Fantastic link! After having seen my own room measurement, I am relieved to see that this jungle of peaks and dips is normal  Rolleyes. Need to pull out the graphs and apply psychoacoustic smoothing.

Thanks for pointing to this video!
