Danny Dulai, COO of Roon, has made an extension that allows Phantom's internal volume to be controlled by UPnP. Using a RAAT endpoint with an optical output will make it possible to bypass Spark and just use Roon. I've tried it myself and it works like a charm. You'll find more info here:
