An updated app would work in that I could put a a cheap older iPod touch within visual range always on as reference only.
An updated hardware remote with display would really be awesome!

Indeed so, I occasionally use an iPad for music selection with an old iPhone 5 showing volume. If you could remotely view SAM settings, RAM settings etc., that would be rather splendid. Does anyone know if this is actually possible for Devialet to implement though, maybe not?

What an 8.1.2 thread??
I had a listen last night and it seemed pretty good actually. Although weirdly toggling between SAM on and off I hardly noticed any difference. Now that was a bit odd.

Certain songs react differently to SAM I find.

Was playing serious underground techno - Steve Lawler to be precise. To be honest there's never been a huge difference between SAM on or off anyway. Now it seems to have shrunk even more. I've also got big bass traps in my room behind the speakers and directly in front.

Funnily enough I'm noticing a lot smaller difference with SAM on/off or with different SAM percentages. It seems a lot more subtle than it used to be.

No discernible difference in 7.1.3 either. Even throttling SAM back seems to have no audible effect. Suspect this isn't working as it should be. I'm also running a REL subwoofer, so I would expect the SAM effect would be more noticeable.

I've moved to 8.1.2 (DPM on) so I could try out the new SAM profile for my speakers (thanks Petrik!). I very much appreciate the extended bass and the sound is very good but my 200 is running at 10-15 degrees hotter than with 7.1.1 or 7.1.3 which is a big concern given other's comments about component failures.

Has anyone sent and received a response from Devialet on the reduced SAM 2 response?
