Would like to share something with you about a nice upgrade for the devialet phantoms.
I recently connected a HOLO RED to my phantoms as a streamer and have never made such a big step in SQ improvement.
The HOLO RED is connected with only LAN ethernet and OPTICAL out to the phantom.
I have owned phantoms since 2014, first the silver, later the gold and now the phantoms I matte white.
My hobby is to make the smallest speakers sound as big and hi-end as possible.
Many tweaks have been carried out over the years with a slightly better result:
- Audioquest cabling and the niagara 1200.
- Uptone EtherRegen.
- Replaced all SMPS by LPS.
- Roon
- etc.
The biggest upgrade and my last right now is really the Holo Red. More “high-end” on all factors.
This is probably partly caused because the Holo Red is optically connected to the phantom and a galvanic separation can therefore take place at the last.
What also seems to be possible is that the Holo Red in combination with a powerfull computer, can run Roon and HQ player and with the installation of gentooplayer even DIRETTA.
I haven’t tried HQplayer and Diretta yet, only Roon and that is already fantastic.
For me it’s such a big upgrade that i wanted to share this anyway.
