Ground loop.
#1
Hi felkas,
I recently changed the position and connections on my system, and unfortunately ground loop emerged on my system.
I investigated the problem by following ps audio steps online, and concluded that it was aground loop.
It s coming from my dev200, used now as pre/ dac.
It can be from the ic also.
Any ideas, thoughts , how i can fix that?

The first to do here is get a pair of shorting RCA plugs. If the D200 is silent with a shorted phono input you can concentrate on the wires/cable from the cartridge to the RCA plugs on the arm cable. Check the ground lead too. Not completely foolproof as a phono input behaves differently shorted and with a cartridge connected, but it is a good start.

Thks ogs for the advice.
Actually i ve sold my tt.
But i ve noticed thru my investigation, that the humm is higher on the phono input.
What i ve done now , is deactivate all the inputs, except the pre out, but the humm is still there.
I will buy shorting plugs and i will try .
