How about Audio converter ?
#1
Hi hello!
I have two silver phantoms and I am looking for better sound with my phantoms.

I found an audio converter(RCA to toslink) in the shopping mall.

Have you ever used this converter?
(Sorry for Korean)

My plan is;
mp3 player(flac file) > converter(RCA to toslink) > Dialog > phantoms !!

How do you think about it?
What is the best way for the sound with phantoms?

Thanks in advance.

Jordan.

Most of these converters are only 16bit-44.1/48kHz and sound quality is questionable, the cheap ones anyway. If 16bit-44.1/48kHz is enough it should work. But I do not quite see why you would do this? Is it not better to play the flac files with Spark from your computer? That would in addition support all sample rates up to 24/192...

if you want high rez, you'll need something like an astell&Kern with toslink out.

in all honesty, don't bother.....phantoms don't have enough imaging or staging

Have you experienced this in your own system?

Hehe, I believe ogs was asking intouch1 the question with respect to their statement "in all honesty, don't bother.....phantoms don't have enough imaging or staging "

This is a very broad and sweeping statement, which prompted the question if they have that issue with their system. Many of us here have quite the opposite experience and love the staging and imaging they provide.
