I think Phantoms can only take PCM. Expert amplifiers can receive DSD, (up to 128?) but this will be converted to PCM with MAT for processing by ADH. Phantoms also use ADH, but does not have MAT. So PCM only for Phantoms.

No, Phantom can only do PCM. I believe you can convert DSD to PCM on the fly with Audirvana.
