How to Migrate to DOS 2 - No Spark App
#1
How to Update/Upgrade an Old Phantom 1 - with no Spark app:
Monday 7th October 2024:

Hi All,

I recently was gifted a second hand Phantom 1. It was on V1.11.0.69. I downloaded the Devialet App and was unable to update the software as it was prompting me to download the Spark App which has now been discontinued.

I reached out to support and they gave me these instructions that updated the speaker software and enabled me to pair the speaker to the new app:

Thanks for reaching out to Devialet CSS.

I understand you would like to migrate to DOS 2 Devialet APP.

Could you please perform this *Rescue Mode* and let me know the outcome?

Here is the process:

Please perform the last resort: Rescue mode
1. Unplug your Phantom from the power.
2. Plug your Phantom into your internet router (LAN port) via an Ethernet cable. Wait for 10 seconds
3. Plug your Phantom into a power strip with an on/off button (if no on/off, please unplug it from the power socket directly)
3. Turn on the power strip for 7 seconds, then off for 3 seconds
4. Proceed to the "on/off" sequence 5 times consecutively
5. At the end of the 5 cycles, please turn the power on and keep it on.

At this time, your Phantom will be connecting to our server (with the woofers pulsating).
Let's wait for the Phantom to run the download of the latest firmware. It will then delete the problematic old firmware and install the new firmware.

This process could take up to 15 minutes. In some cases, this could take up to 2 hours.
Possible scenarios:
- if you hear 3 claps, it's ready! Please follow the APP (Devialet) to set it up
- if you miss the 3 claps, and the speaker has gone stationary (woofers stop moving), please press the back button 3 times quickly.
Please follow the APP (Devialet) to set it up

- if the woofers continue to move, please leave them overnight and check in the morning
Thank you for your understanding and for your patience. Please let me know how you go.

Best regards,

I hope this helps someone because, it worked for me and saved me losing my mind!
