Making a super stable Phantom II 95 stereo wireless connection (no cables)
#1
After getting my pair of Phantom II 95, I've encountered stereo pair stability issues, like small pauses/sound clipping in stereo mode.

I have a basic 8 year old 2.4G Huawei router, coming as part of standard home internet/cable TV/ip telephone package. The router is loaded fully all the time, since it transfers cable tv signal via ethernet to 3 rooms, has 3 smart TVs connected occasionally transmitting top quality 4K content and 4-5 additional devices, like smartphone/tablets.

When I first installed Devialet app and registered+paired two Phantoms, everything looked fine, but there simply was no sound coming when I used my Android smartphone via Bluetooth as a source. The next step was just connecting ethernet cable between two Phantoms and it just started working automatically, without additional settings. Connection remained unstable,  having micro interruptions every 3-5 minutes even at 1000ms network latency. Note that Devialet app showed no network problems and a very good wifi signal.

Since upgrading a whole apartment to a more powerful and modern two band router is a real pain, I decided to experiment and it worked.

I bought an entry level 29€ TP-Link 5G router and did the next steps:

1.Unpaired Phantoms in Devialet app/unpaired Bluetooth connection with the phone/fully reset Devialet app data.
2.Reset each Phanton with a long push of a back button
3.Turn on the new router, connected it to my smartphone, manually turned off 2.4G band, leaving 5G mode only, renamed WiFi network to "Phantom WiFi" just to make it easier to find. (Note this router has no internet access)
4.Open a Devialet app with a connection to my old wifi router and just logged into my Devialet account
5.Proceed with all the standard steps, except I choose the new (no internet) 5G wifi network, made a Phantom pair, pair it to Smartphone Bluetooth.
6.It works flawlessly, with Poweramp app hi-res signal transfer, 30-band equalizer. No ethernet cable, just an immediate and stable wifi 5G connection every time. Heavenly sound, via budget 6 year old Samsung smartphone.
7.If you need to play YouTube or other online streaming source, just switch wifi networks on your smartphone, to the old router. This changes nothing. My Smartphone transfers Youtube/online music signal via Bluetooth to the master Phantom (left channel), however Phantoms communicate to each other using the new 5G clean router channel without internet, and the connection remains 100% stable.

Ps after about a week of using this method,  I received a Google Play Devialet app update. After connecting my app next time to listen to music , there was a strange pause - it turned out Phantoms updated to the latest ROM and it seems now, they get 98db power, since I really feel a significant loudness difference.

I will try updating this article, if I find something. This method may look strange and confusing, but it worked in my case. The whole point was using a separate 5G router as a communication device for Phantoms. Nobody in Devialet support recommended doing this and I couldn't find any other similar article in the internet. So, just posting, in case it may help in cases similar to mine.
