MA8000 is one of the best integrated amp. Add McIntosh CD 500, Rockport Atria and some Tranaparent Cables and this is a system for rest of Your life. Plus there is No problem with selling Macintosh gear even after 20 years. 

Devialet is great when You want All in One unit for about 4000-5000 Euro. So You buy ex-demo 200 and this is it. But investing 20 000 $ or more in Devialet 1000 is IMO not a good idea. So invest in 60+ years company with great prestige and service. Invest in McIntosh.

I listened to Devialet 250 and the MA8000 and I liked the Devialet better, but as always it's up to the personal taste I would say.

Just an example, long history company doesn't means they still making the best stuffs.

in technology, many old company no longer the best. So I think his example isn't a bad example. Nokia was the king in mobile phone industry, an another expensive brand start with V I forget its name, they was standing the best product in the industry for years. Also IBM...

Amplification is also technology product, its not like an oil paint. So McIntosh will be a rubbish worth nothing at one stage.
