Did you try the Vibrapod cones as well and are there advantages to be had from using either of the pods?

/Mike

I did in the past and too long ago now to remember...

I use vibrapods when I visit my dealer and would like to listen to some new gear with Devialet. If Devialet is on a hard floor, I don't like the signature so I simply throw in the vibrapods...

In my setup, I have a Finite Elemente Master rack with vibration sucking resonators, and recently added Stabilian feet with a good effect.

I would try Vibrapod first, or even the package foam (which is free) to see if you like the effect.

Cheers.

Back from 10 days of traveling and Vibrapods are here. I slid them under the Devs (just the pod at the moment). Can't really tell if the pods did something or it is my believes in your words but some 'calming' down they did. But as I still probably cook in the dedicated mains, Petit Coronas, digital cables, much could be a single contributor to the increase in fidelity as time goes.

Still have to try the vibrapod cones with or without the pods.

Just had a religious moment listening to For you with Tracy Chapman, never heard this piece so organic and free floating and there. I am still goose bumping!

Glad you are enjoying the pods... "Calming down" is what I would use to describe the effect as well...

Cheers.

Calming down indeed without killing PRAT (I am an old Naim devotee).

Natural flowing music into my living room...

Nat King Cole and Mona Lisa on vinyl yesterday almost wet my pants...

These Devs are fantastic but if you pamper them accordingly you will be rewarded so much more...

Update time!

The calming down effect was welcome to address some less nice upfrontness character.

Now I tried the cones with the pods (3 pcs no. 2 + cone). Hey welcome focus, separation, balance and smooth clarity (whatever that is Wink). Some recordings with sibilance issues are now without it. I never could have imagined that these units would be that sensitive. Wife said, wow, what happened?

This cones with the pods made a bigger difference than the pods them selfs.
The pods are with the wide side down and the cones are with the ball against the Dev. Only problem is that the units now are very sensitive to sliding around. No touching please!

The pod plus the cone is a no brainer in my system.

More pods on the way for my Turntable and Unitiserve marble slates, Oppo player and psu's.

More reports with my installments.

System Vibrapodised!

Now under my marble slabs for the streamer and turntable I notice once again some calming down ie more natural sound and specially on the turntable were bass gets both deeper and tighter. No dynamics loss either rather the opposite.

Under PSU's I notice same thing, calming effect ie blacker background.

Oppo player, perhaps a bit better of detail, color and contrast.

I am happy with the results/Mike

Hi All,

System update! Finally found a good position for the Raidhos. Stuffed in a new TV at the same time. Things are playing very well and speakers are getting massage every day and start to settle even if the treble unit probably need some more playing time. Notice the toe in of the speakers (all in Raidhos own recommendations). This position and toe in reproduce some very very sweet tones with amazing coherence, soundstage that almost surrounds you but at the same time with pin point focus on voices. Bass is full but dry, midrange is oh-I-am-there with lip sounds and all totally live, top extended with out poking out your eardrums. Dynamics are of none concern as everything is just there when it should be without delay, drag, muddle etc. These babies can play loud and keep their coherence.
My dealer said that Raidhos make all other speakers sound broken, not true perhaps but I tend to agree due to the amazing dynamic power (without being a high efficiency construction). Nuff said! Next will be room tuning, test some loudspeaker cables, tonearm and better feet for the Raidho stand.
