Multiple optical into Dialogue?
#1
Hi does anyone know of some kind of optical extension / adapter unit with switching, where i could plug multiple optical into the dialogue - then switch between them?

So the phantoms would always use input 1 on the dialogue regardless of source, and i woudl switch source on the aforementioned gadget......if such a thing exists!

Really dont want long optical cables going from speaker to sky box / apple TV etc

Or can i transmit sky/apple tv sound wirelesly?

Thoughts? Thanks Smile

Quite a few are available, with usually with 2, 3 or 4 inputs.

BRILLIANT Smile

And it's sure to behave as expected? As far as the phantoms know it's simply one signal going into the dialogue at all times?

Hello.

You can plug optical cable into each phantom and dialog. In my setup with 2 silvers and 1 dialog I have 3 optical inputs available.
After the update you can also stream via bluetooth. I have a bluetooth headset setup on my TV that I can use with the Phantoms.

If you still need more optical inputs I would look into using the TV as the mediareceiver for switching between inputs in stead of a digital switch. That would of course require you to look at the same thing on the TV as you want to play through the speakers.

Thanks all - just bought an optical switcher, some cables, and an analogue to optical for my turntable......so noneed for optical cables trailing from the speakers

Would have kind of spoilt the wireless looks Smile

Cant wait to to get it all set up and report on my (hopefully positive) findings compared to my current system!

I'm using the Lindy 4-channel optical switcher. Works flawlessly.
