It seems most of the sentiment on the forum is against upgrading. Perhaps the people whom are thinking of upgrading are keeping quiet. I'd like to hear from them. I'd be very interested to know what people's reasons pro upgrading might be (not because I'd want to shoot them down -- far from it, I'm genuinely interested.)
Anyone out there?

I want to listen to one back to back versus the current model, with my speakers. The decision to upgrade will be based on how significant any sound quality improvement proves to be.

I might also try something from the opposition while I'm at it, it's good to double check these things.

I registered for the first 200 to upgrade and received an email regarding upgrading but it just shows 'normal pricing'. No advantage it seems?

I think us 200 owners are getting taken to the cleaners - especially with US pricing.

Big winners out of this program are D-Prem and 120 owners. Well done Devialet for not looking after those who have spent significantly more on your products!

The distortion levels are already quite low and reducing them a little further may be a technical achievement but I am quite skeptical whether that has any obvious impact on sound quality. There may be other changes which increase sonic performance but it is not obvious to me what these are.

The distortion levels do seem like less exciting improvements than the improved A and D amps, ADH (rebalanced A vs. D), and power supply. I'm personally excited to hear Devialet talk about hearing improved sound quality rather than just seeing improved measurements. Measurements are great tools for testing and development but since I listen to rather than test my system I'm most interested in the improved sound quality (which I hope is greater than the distortion figures suggest). The other big improvement would be a better software platform with the new OS and streamer board, but I'll pay attention to that when it exists.

Well, after seeing the measured improvements what do you expect to hear?
They have admitted to not listening when doing changes. I don't think there is a reason for anyone to upgrade at the prices they want other than 120 or D'Premier owners.
