Eagerly waiting for some news.
Would be great to have them comment the fact that on paper the Astra stands out as an inferior amplifier compared to the now "obsolete" Expert line. What has actually been improved?
Devialetless since 2023 after ten years...

No, it’s 4 separate sessions at 12, 2, 4, 6pm. From their latest email.

Please also ask them to get one Expert next to Astra for A/B testing.

Yes, my bad, thanks for highlighting this. I have the same email, sessions at 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm. My plan remains the same though, I shall to try to get there for the 4pm session.

I too would like to listen to the Astra A/B versus the Expert Pro, however, seeing that they are planning four sessions in one afternoon I suspect that they have a planned structure and agenda for each session, and A/B testing will not be part of this. There is no harm in asking though.
It would show a certain confidence in the Astra if they were demonstrating it back to back with the Expert, but I expect that this event will be a bit like visiting the Devialet room at a hifi show, you will get to hear the latest kit, some technical and maybe some marketing speak, and that will be it.
That said, from my past experience with Oxford Audio Consultants, for customers seriously considering a purchase they have always been very willing to facilitate A/B testing in their shop, and sometimes happy to loan kit for customers to try at home. So A/B testing would be a possibility for anyone seriously considering a purchase, in the fullness of time.

Of course the sound quality is of interest but since the price for the Astra is significantly higher compared to the Expert line it would also be of value to know if that's justified from a technical stand point. I would not like to pay more for a product that is made in an inferior and more simple way compared to the product it claims to be replacing.
So far it seems to me that the Astra is a simplified Expert Pro in a "blingy" shell but I don't mind if I'm proven wrong.
Devialetless since 2023 after ten years...

Obviously Devialet is convinced a single Astra outperforms an Expert Pro 440. They just send out the newsletter and on social media to check dealers for availability. So there should be a comparison be able to do soon too.

We all knew how good the Expert Pro series is to other products on the market. The Astra could be better than an Expert Pro 440 but not much, a bit yes or just another taste, not more and not less.
