To be clear.... there is a optical toslink cable going into both the right and left Phantoms? If not, you will need a splitter that will send the right channel to the right Phantom, and visca versa.

If you do that, you will (at best ) get a 2 x mono system... To use a pair as a stereo setup, Devialet SW needs to get the full signal and dispatch it to each speaker itself. This, I believe is achieved via WiFi or SPDIF to ONE master speaker OR via SPDF to a Dialog that best be connected via Ethernet / LAN to both speakers. Am I wrong? If Devialet HW/SW is not good enough to handle LAN error corrections in real time, then you will have drop outs. If the signal cannot arrive in good enough quality to a "dispatcher"  same result. Atm based on the same problem occurring with several people all having different setup the only common point is the Devialet devices... Since it has worked OK in the past for many users, there could be a very real issue with the DOS 2 app/SW which could have bugs and poorly deals with latency between devices or signal errors. Do the Phantom have enough computing power to handle the SW processing? Would Devialet recognizes it and handle it as a recall or rewrite their SW accordingly? For the time being I suggest:
1 - get the cleanest media source whether online or PC etc. ensuring that the HW handles the decoding of the media properly without fail.
2 - test the best connectivity for your environment. WIFI, BT, LAN, SPDIF... Just go by elimination. Seems that SPDIF direct to one master is best and then test if master can dispatch to other speaker with LAN or WIFI but with wireless be prepared to loose on latency. There has been issues created by some other devices on LAN which a smart switch could pick up on that created sporadic, random and very transitory faults in signal transmission rendering Devialet devices troubleshooting a real headache until those problems were resolved.
3 - We tend to trust the weak points too much, like cables, ports etc....  Isolating a fault by swapping a working device for a faulty one for instance can sometimes identify a simple issue easy and cheap to resolve.

So in summary the common point of possible issues between the music source and your ear... are Media source, the transmission medium and the Devialet devices (dialog and/or master speaker). If you trust your media source and your transmission media is perfectly ok then and only then you can put the fault on the Devialet devices. They have a HW and a SW side. The HW can only be addressed as repair or wrty but the SW should be something Devialet must attend on a regular basis based on feedback and extensive testing. They should setup the worse setup-possible in their labs to test their resilience so that it works perfectly in 99,999 % of cases out there.

Devialet if you read this get to work!!!!! Your brand reputation is at stake.
