Don't know, however my Phantom Golds are both mid-2017 vintage (serial number K28...) and both connect to my 5 GHz network without any problems (I only run 5GHz as my 2.4GHz environment is extremely congested). When I query my router the Wifi chipset is reported as Chicony Electronics Co, Ltd.
