Phantom One with Ethernet
#1
Whilst removing my Phantoms from their Tree stands, i realised that i had Ethernet cables connected from my speakers through my stand.
Now when i set them up, they came with a pair of fibre optic leads and a pair of Ethernet cables!
The question is does anyone connect the Ethernet’s up? Being to a router or any other device.
I have my network router close by and was thinking of connecting them both to my two spare ports.
Has anyone got any thoughts on this? Is there any advantages?
Your thoughts and input will be greatly appreciated
Cheers all

Rob.

Yes they are much more reliable for me connected to Ethernet.

I have mine of wifi (for control, spotify etc), left one connected via opt (via tree) to tv and then an ethernet cable between the trees. It's been very stable since I set it up, which is soon four years ago with the current setup.

If your cable directly connects from one phantom to the other, with no switch or router in between, it’s not actually doing anything.

I tried as well and never succeeded in connecting both of them on Ethernet. Seems that you always need a router for Ethernet. I wonder why because they must communicate in a certain way when they are set on stereo

I’ve had it confirmed from Devialet employees that there needs to be a switch in between for Ethernet to work.
