Phantoms with Shunyata Venom PS8
#1
This may be a silly question, but the Phantoms should not have any issues with a simple power distributor? I'm looking at buying a Shunyata Research Venom PS8 on sale with a no refund policy:

The noise reduction feature might interfere with the built in PLC in Phantom as long as you don't use the same power strip for Phantom(s) and Dialog

Reading some of the previous posts, I get this, though I believe with these, the noise reduction feature is optional and comes with the supplemental Defender plug-in.

Given that the Phantoms are not a typical hifi set-up, is there any legitimate benefit to obtaining higher-quality power distributors (unfiltered) or cables? I can't seem to tell what the majority opinion is on this. Steve Huff repeatedly mentions that there is no need for better cables in his recent review.

Tried mine with some Purist Audio & Transparent power cords they actually sounded worse in my opinion. Quite happy sticking to the supplied powercord & thankfully it's white now.

I would not recommend purchasing hifi accessories (powercords/interconnects/vibration damping stuff) without a trial.
