Expert 120 and MC cartridges
#1
Apologies if the topic has been covered already.
I am aware that several users were frustrated with the hiss that the Devialet phono produces when the cartridge is a low output MC and that the introduction of SUTs made them happy.

I would like, instead, to go a tad backwards and understand how usable the phono stage is for low output MC regardless the hiss.
The Expert 120 (or the 140 Pro, AFAIK) does not allow to set custom values for the load of the cartridge and, based on some reading I did, it seems that, by default, loading is at 47kohm. Would this basically restrict its use to MM and HO-MC cartridges? (unless a SUT were employed)

I'm asking since, in view of future upgrades of my analog rig, I have to understand how to get oriented.
Thanks in advance!

Since folks at Devialet have just confirmed with me that the MC input is locked at 47k ohm, I was wondering who (and with which cartridge) was satisfied with driving their MC on such load.

Thanks!
