Physical Remote and Airplay Issues - ongoing
#1
Hi All,

I have been having issues streaming via airplay since I got my 440's (about 2 years ago).

I have a pair of 440's which were upgraded to CI.  My 440's are wall mounted using the devialet brackets.

I have tried hard wiring my 440's today to see if that will solve the issue. It hasnt. If anything it is now worse. I cant connect to it at all. Previously I was able to connect and it would drop in and out all the time.

Also, for what its worth, my physical remote does not always connect. I have heard that wall mounting the amps means that I will have remote issues.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Rathpex

Hi,
I can’t help with you LAN connectivity issues as I’ve never experienced any but I’ve had my master 220 hung on the wall for many years and I’ve never experienced dropouts unless there is no line of sight in which case I sometimes lose control of the amp in which case I move the remote to the arm of the chair, say, and it reconnects. The dropouts in your music would happen if the amp was horizontally mounted, I think.

So do we think i may have a faulty circuit in the unit? I guess I’ll contact devialet tomorrow.

Now the iPhone app isnt picking up the amp anymore.

I have literally moved a mesh base station into the same room.

Sooo frustrating. The amps are awesome, rhey do such a great job woth the speakers, i just want the remote and wifi to work seemlessly.

Anyone gave any ideas? Should i try and demount the amps? Just to see if that works?

I don’t think demounting will help. I read that if you place the remote in the top right corner of the amp and rotate the knob, the units will pair.

I concur. Place your remote on the amp and allow them to pair. Should be dead easy. Wall mounting does not affect connectivity. Forget this red herring.
