Play movies on Mac with Phantom
#1
I saw a couple of videos on youtube, where Devialet plays trailers on a Macbook Pro with Phantom speakers.

I can only figure out to play music on my Macbook Pro with Spark Apps. When I play youtube videos, the sound only comes out on my mac speakers. Anyone knows what to do?

If your MacBook Pro is a 3rd generation one (from 2012 to now), the headphone minijack connector is also a mini-TOSLINK one.
Just connect you MacBook Pro to the Phantoms with an optical cable (TOSLINK on one side and mini-TOSLINK on the other one, a TOSLINK to mini-TOSLINK adaptator can be used).

If you hook up Apple Airport Express to the TOSLINK input of Phantom, then you can use Airplay to stream the audio channel from your Mac to the Phantom. Which means that any app on your Mac will be able to output audio through Phantom.
I do that to be able to play Spotify and Tidal on Phantom
This can work for Youtube too, but please note that - since this streaming takes a bit of time - the audio track will have some delay compared to the picture.
