I am fishing out this relatively old post but i was about to start a new thread specifically on whether materials of different interconnects, cables and chords in one system may have any sort of compatibility/incompatibility or not?
some people claim that you have for example to go all copper or silver or else or else you run the risk of a clash as suggested by Mark of Sablon
Yes I had heard of this theory even before Mark mentioned it, no idea if it really holds true though! I suppose it's one reason why some like to stick to one brand of loom throughout their system.
At the moment I'm using three brands in my system: Chord for the speaker cables, Transparent for the digital cables and Entreq for power and grounding. I'd say the balance is pretty good but to be honest and I never much worried about the materials used in each of these cables. One does hear of cable/equipment clashes though and I suppose the Sablon power cable experience was one of them.
Just to change the subject though, there does seem to be a ridiculous amount of choice in affordable power cables. In hindsight I might have experimented a bit more. Having said that I am very happy with what I have.

More options are supposed to make our lives easier but apparently they make them more complicated.
But I guess it is part of the fun
