Pro-Ject Essential III turnable optical with devialet gold
#1
Hi,
Im considering buying the  Pro-Ject Essential III turnable,
Well, im a digital guy always play music with roon or audirvana/tidal.
But also fascinated from the analog world combined with the digital one.
The "problem" is the that the only physical output in the phantom are optical.i wonder if this mix of analog and digital will sound "top notch" .

Please advice....
And off course if you own this setup please share.

Thanks,
Elad

You'll need either a ADC (Analog-to-Digital Converter), or a pre-amp that has an optical output. Some of the Pro-Ject pre-amps do feature an optical output, some others don't (but an ADC will do fine). Either ways works pretty well.
2x Phantom Silver [Eth] + Remote — DOS 2.12.5
+ Pro-Ject Debut Carbon (Ortofon 2M Black) with Pro-ject Tube Box S2 + Swissonic Converter AD 24/192

@AcrossTheWaves
If il find the pro-ject with optical output is it good enough to satisfy the "needs" of the phantoms regards audio quality?
I not gone enter to turnable if im gone compromise the audio quality.

Iv tryed to search for a decent ADC seems like hard to find like swissonic 24/192 .dont ship to my country. ):
If you have other adc suggestions that r good enough il be glad...

Please advice...
