Qobuz Connect for Astra
#1
Qobuz Connect now available for Astra in a just released software update. Just done the update and worked fine. All functional and sounding great - nice to get away from the clunky Tidal Connect interface! Will report any issues encountered once I've had a chance to listen to Qobuz Connect in detail.

Update

Been doing a fair bit of listening and Qobuz Connect sounds excellent on my Astras. It seems to me that it is a bit fuller sounding than Tidal Connect, and especially so compared to Tidal/Qobuz via Roon Nuc+ which to me sounds a bit leaner.

The interface is far better than Tidal and there is practically no delay in accessing and playing tracks compared to Tidal Connect and it seems very stable and no crashes so far - more so than Tidal Connect and Tidal/Qobuz via Roon Nuc+, all of which have periodic crashes and delays.

However, there is one problem - Qobuz Connect consistently refuses to play certain tracks and skips to next track which it plays flawlessly.

For example it will not play Tracks 1,4 and 6 on Tool’s Fear Inoculum album but all others are fine. Tom Petty’s Full Moon Fever has same issue with a couple of tracks.

My two devices are: iPad 8th generation running IOS v24 and Samsung S25 Ultra running Android.

Both devices have the same problem running these Tracks through the Astras when using Qobuz Connect but not Tidal Connect or Tidal/Qobuz through Roon Nuc+.

Also Qobuz Connect works fine when these tracks are played through the iPad and S25 internal speakers.

Therefore, this is specifically a Qobuz Connect - Astra issue.

Any other Astra users finding this problem?

Could someone kindly try out the Tool Tracks and see if they have same issue?

I’ve raised a Ticket with Devialet and they got straight back to me to let me know the Tech team are on it.

Otherwise Qobuz Connect is excellent - that’s one less box and set of power and Ethernet cables to worry about!

This is a known issue with Qobuz. It seems they recently made some infrastructure changes that caused this issue.

Thanks Daniel. I read about this yesterday. However, if it is a problem at Qobuz’s end then why do these tracks play fine through my iPad and Phone?
I’m sure it will be sorted.

What player are you using on your iPad and Phone? If it's the one from Qobuz, then it's normal for it to be like this.

Ahh that makes sense. Yes it is the Qobuz App on both devices. Hopefully they will sort it soon as I love the sound and simplicity of Connect direct to the Astra internal streamer - it’s always favourite tracks that go awol!
Thanks for your input.
