Quick start question: Devialet Expert Pro
#1
Question: When getting a new unit, may one insert the SD card with the newest firmware/DOS before firing up the system for the first time?

The directions from Devialet seem to indicate that one should power up the system first and then turn off the unit, remove power from the mains, insert the SD card and then re-insert the power cord before proceeding to the update.

I'd like to eliminate the two-step process, though it isn't a big deal.

I have always inserted the sd card with the latest firmware before the 1st power on of the Devialet when it was either new or coming back from factory, and it has always upgraded during its first powering up. Never gone through the ‘two step process’

So the Lyngdorf experience didn't last long? I am not sure about your question though, may be best to follow Devialet's advice. Just start the amp without SD card, then do the upgrade routine

I found the Lyngdorf uninspiring.  Might have been a mismatch with my speakers.  Glad to return to the Devialet fold.
