Recording via USB
#1
Hi all,

Friends and I like to share CD compilations that we make. I used to do this from Itunes using CD ripped tracks and downloaded mp3s, but these days with the streaming options and my Devialet I'm looking for a better option.

Ideally I'd like a simple solution that I can leave in place and can record from the USB output. Intention would be to create a playlist in something like Tidal, play it and then record the USB output and then split into tracks and output to a CD.

I have tried with a borrowed laptop and it's doable. Ideally I'd like to be able to use a device I can leave in place that would record it to say a USB stick which I could then move to a desktop, or my existing Ipad.

Have any of you been able to create an ongoing setup? Could I buy a dedicated USB recorder (most seem to be voice recorders that save to USB rather than record from USB) or use something with my Ipad, or do I need to buy a laptop. Is there any option via Roon or Spotify etc to write compliations to a CD?

Thanks,
Jonathan
