Roon & Tidal
#1
Playing Tidal via Roon using PLC setting - there are frequent drops and cutouts.

Thoughts on how to improve?

Reduced max sample rate to 48Khz in room?
Increase latency in Devialet's UpnP setting?
Howl at moon?

A direct-wired connection is not possible.

Thanks very much

Downsampling to 48Khz would be the wisest choice as the speakers downsample to that frequency anyway. Try howling to the moon too, and don't forget to post a video of your howling for our amusement.

Are you using UPnP with Roon? Why not RAAT?

First off - thank you for your reply. Apprecaited.

I think that was a newbie error - I am using RAAT ... I think.

I notice it reports Roon Ready (In Devialet player) and no MQA support (in Roon)

Your welcome! Excellent but sometimes quite moody speakers. Have you tried WiFi instead of PLC? Do you have the opportunity to connect the speakers to each other with an ethernet cable, or is a wired connection of any kind out of the question?

Well, one thing that helped with my multiple Phantom purchases was what Wired called "... is what audiophiles call WAF: wife-acceptance factor." Starting to run wires would definitely set off a ripple in the social fabric... 🤷‍♂️

WAF is underestimated.
You could try just as a test to see if the dropouts disappear.
