It's always good news when new speakers are getting SAM profiles Smile Thanks for sharing.

Just back from my SAM lab session in Bergen. A very pleasant experience. I forgot to bring an SD card so I'll receive the SAM profile for my speakers in an email some time next week. Maxime Dumont from Devialet did the session. He told me he is responsible for SAM and it is also he who maintains the SAM data base and the list of speakers on the web.

How Long it takes from start to finish?

Around 5 minutes. Much of the measurements are automated. No microphone is used, just a laser pointed close to the speaker membrane. The operator adjusts a few parameters during measurement. The XMAX setting (maximum safe cone excursion before distortion sets in) is done manually by playing a low frequency sinus tone while slowly increasing the level on the amplifier until one can see distortion increase in the SAM program on the PC. Mine ended up at 7 millimeters. Very nice for my use!
