SPDIF rates support by Dialog?
#1
Does anybody know what SPDIF rates the Dialog supports?

I have tried 24/192 and that works I have also tried 16/44.1.

Since 24/192 works my guess is 24/48 and 24/96 also work but how out the other frequency family.

Has anybody tried 24/88.2 or 24/176.4 ?

Hi Andrew, welcome to Devialet Chat

unfortunately I do not own Phantoms or Dialog. My 250 supports all up to 192kHz including 88.2 and 176.4. I'd be surprised if Dialog does not support these as it is in the 44.1 family. Let us hope one of the more technically minded Phantom owners can chime in here!

Don't Devialet publish this in the Dialogue/Phantom manuals anywhere?

On 2014 whitepaper it says Phantoms are limited to 24/192.  If dialog supported it, Phantoms should be able to play any format below that limit.

The Dialogue/Phantom does support 176.4 - using it now.

It'll therefore also support 88.2

So, at a minimum 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4 and 192

Hi

I am a new Dialog +2x Silver Phantom owner. Can someone confirm if Phantom are 24/192 capable on optical input? I can get it to play via Dialog but need to limit to 24/96 for the Phantom to play the same track. This is Roon via squeezebox touch with edo.

Obviously the DAC in the Phantom can play it as it works with Dialog but not via optical?

Phantom optical input supports 24/192. I checked this while I did research before deciding to buy or not. I ended up not buying so I can not help you further I'm afraid. Try a different optical cable perhaps?

It does support 24/192 via optical.

Check that the cable is seated properly at both ends.  If that doesn't help, try a new cable.  A badly made cable will suffer from this

All fixed. I had a cable with thick ends and obviously wasn't connected properly. Just changed to a thinner cable and all is well with Mozart in glorious 192/24
