Setting HDMI - „HDMI switch Auto“

Can anybody tell me what the setting „HDMI switch auto“ at the. Bottom of the HDMI settings page does/means?

If your tv has pass through setting for the Arc/eARC HDMI then your Dione would automatically configure the output based on the input received through the HDMI cable.
